Education improvement journey
HEMPI has a strong track record of strengthening communities and achieving remarkable outcomes, even in challenging circumstances. A majority of groups and individuals we’ve partnered with have seen measurable improvements in skills development, entrepreneurship, and community impact within the first year of collaboration. We also take already strong initiatives and amplify their impact. For example, when a youth skills group joined our network, they went from serving a few dozen beneficiaries to becoming one of the most impactful initiatives in their state. While each HEMPI hub retains its unique culture and character, all align with our core principles of empowerment, inclusivity, and sustainability. Underpinning all we do is our commitment to working together as One HEMPI so that every participant benefits from the strength and reach of the entire network.
Outstanding leadership development and growth opportunities
HEMPI’s Leadership and Empowerment Institute serves as our centre of excellence for capacity building. It equips facilitators, volunteers, and leaders with the training and development they need to maximise their potential — and by extension, the potential of every individual and community they serve.
Joining Hempi
The Joining Process
- Your governing body or leadership team must pass a resolution to join HEMPI.
- We will begin with conversations, community visits, and needs assessments to understand your strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
- Based on this, we will co-create a tailored transition plan specific to your organisation.
- You are encouraged to conduct your own due diligence on HEMPI at this stage.
A dedicated project manager will be appointed to oversee your transition. This person will serve as your main contact throughout the process, guiding you through logistics, legal requirements, and consultations.
Timeline
We will create a customised transition plan that sets out a realistic timeline for joining HEMPI. Throughout this period, we’ll work closely with you so that we can begin our shared journey at the earliest opportunity.
Our operational and empowerment support model is designed to make the transition as smooth as possible. A dedicated, highly experienced team will walk alongside you every step of the way.

From struggling to thriving
A rural women’s empowerment group joined HEMPI while facing financial and organisational difficulties. Within two years, they secured funding, expanded their membership, and gained regional recognition for their work.
Youth-led transformation
A youth entrepreneurship hub that joined us in 2020 has since trained over 1,000 young people, many of whom have gone on to launch sustainable businesses and social projects.
